The Last Concert Of The World

It happened without warning. Meteors fell upon Earth. Cities burnt and billions died.

There were rumors of shelters being built, but they only took in a select few, like doctors, scientists, or skilled individuals. The rest of us were left out here to die.

For now, I was safe in this Tokyo Dome, turned into a refugee center.

I was supposed to be doing a concert here when the world came crashing down. Of course, a concert was no longer a priority. But I ended up talking with the event manager, things like food supplies wouldn’t last us forever. And even if we don’t starve to death, the ongoing meteor strike might get us sooner. Doing the concert, however, could give us a good distraction we need.

There wasn’t much power left.

So, I had to make do with white neon light for the stage. At least, there was an audience. Thousands, in fact, had already filled up the seats, where they had been sleeping these past weeks.

I decided on the title of my last song – ‘No More Crying.’

I was greeted with skeptical glares when I stepped onto the stage. Although the stadium was packed, there was cold silence.

I decided to skip the introduction and went straight to singing—

We have lived and are still here. Let us live a little longer with pride. I sang my heart out to give these messages voice. And at last, those cold gazes vanished, and new feelings began to spread till the whole stadium was filled with cheer.

Soon, we would die.

But not now while we still live, only a bit longer.
