There’s a rumor about a photographer who only a few have had the chance to meet. They say he could capture photographs of ghosts.
“Is she here?” asked a woman who had recently lost her daughter. “Should I shut the curtain? Light a candle?”
“No, ma’am, I’ve got the lighting I need,” said the photographer as he snapped a few pictures. He returned to the woman two days later with the developed photos, showing the old bedroom with a faint outline of a little girl standing in the center.
“It’s her,” said the woman, tearing up. “I can recognize her anywhere.”
They say humans’ eyes can only distinguish three colors in their surroundings—red, blue, and green. Yet, some animals can detect more colors. Crows can see different shades in UV light. According to the photographer, spirits emit a special light that sometimes appears in photos. “I’m so sorry, Yuka,” the woman cried. “ You’d been in a coma for so long. Mommy had no choice but to remove your life support.”
“Ma’am,” said the photographer, “the dead no longer need anything. But some stay because they’re worried about their living loved ones. I sense that your daughter doesn’t want you to continue suffering. Live and be happy again, and then she will be able to pass on.”
Not long after, her daughter left in peace.
This story is just one among many. From what his clients told me during interviews, the photographer never revealed his name. It’s as if he wanted to remain anonymous at all costs. Nobody knew where he was going next, either. Some suspect that it’s the ghosts who always guide him to where he’s needed.
